Res Artis is the largest existing network of artist residency programmes, representing  the interests of more than 300 centers and organisations in 50 countries worldwide that offer to international artists facilities and conditions conducive for making art.

Currently members of Res Artis reside in:

Argentina, Armenia, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Gambia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Martinique, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Senegal, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tanzania, The Netherlands, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam.

Res Artis began in 1993 as a volunteer organisation to represent and support the needs of residential arts centers and programs internationally through dynamic exchange of information and face-to-face meetings.

Within a decade it has grown to provide a critical forum for residency programs, convening meetings and conferences internationally where the exchange of ideas and creative models test cultural assumptions and broaden the world-view of its participants.

Res Artis is promoting the understanding of the catalytic role residential arts centers play in the development of Contemporary Arts in all cultures worldwide and across all creative media.
