Call-out for 4 new Board Members

Res Artis: Worldwide Network of Arts Residencies seeks applications from Individuals to join our Board. In addition to welcoming applications from our members, Res Artis also invites applications from the broader cultural mobility field and other sectors

Soon, the Res Artis Board will be reduced to 7 members, and we aim to recruit a maximum of a further 4 members to reach our maximum capacity of 11 in order to successfully implement our Strategic Plan 2015 – 2020. Board Members are appointed for an initial 2 years, and may be re-elected every 2 years to serve a maximum term of 8 years total.

The Board comprises 4 Officer Positions namely President; Vice-President; Treasurer and Secretary. Through this call-out Res Artis welcomes applications for the vacant Treasurer position. In addition to the duties of Board Member, the Treasurer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Oversees the financial management of the foundation in consultation
    with the Executive Director and President
  • Maintains and oversees proper books of account of the foundation in
    consultation with the Executive Director and Book-keeper
  • Provides annual financial reports to the Board in consultation with the
    Executive Director and Book-keeper
  • Receives formal approval by the entire Board of the annual financial
    report and ensures an annual Pardon Policy is granted
  • Makes the approved annual financial reports available to all members
  • Ensures that approved annual financial reports are provided at plenary
    sessions of Res Artis Meetings
  • Closely interacts with the President, Vice President, Secretary and
    Executive Director

To ensure Res Artis meets the evolving needs of our diverse International membership, we have developed a Board Recruitment and Diversity Strategy that identifies the following priority areas for recruitment:

  • Treasurer Position (see above)
  • Representatives from Africa; Asia; Arctic; Latin America; the Netherlands (in particular)
  • Candidates with Dutch (in particular), Asian, African and Arctic region language skills
  • Applicants from outside the arts residencies field
  • Candidates with the following skills:
    - Accounting/Finance/Fundraising (in particular)
    - Legal
    - IT/Technology
    - Communications/PR
    - Research/Education

Recruitment Timeline and Selection Process

30 May: Applications open
27 June: Applications close
2 July: Res Artis members vote for candidates
16 July: Voting closes
24 July: Final selection of new Board Members by current Board (taking into
consideration and prioritizing member votes)
27 July: All applicants notified and successful Board Members registered and inducted
1 August: New Board Members commence
