ResSupport Fellowship

ResSupport Fellowship is an opportunity for an established Res Artis member organization to donate a residency period to an emerging organization within the Res Artis network. This experience not only provides the emerging organization with a glimpse into the inner workings of an established residency, but strengthens the bonds between residency centers and communities across the globe. Res Artis acts as a matchmaker, pairing applicants with appropriate host organizations.

The first Fellowships

In April 2012, the 18th Street Art Center in Los Angeles, USA hosted residency directors from South America ‘in residence’ within their organisation. Giuseppe De Bernardi from Lima, Peru and Francisca Caporali from Belo Horizonte, Brazil spent one month, learning about how artist residencies are run in the States. They spent time at 18th Street as well as visiting other residencies in the area. Their trip was supported by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
