Ceramic Safari - "Shinos for wood and reduction"

Specialiced workshop in encouraging to discover contemporary applications of Shino glaze.

Shino glaze comes from Japan, 15th century. In this workshop teachers will make pottery demos in wheel and modeling to be glazed in different colors of Shino. Pieces shall be finally fired in wood and reduction, discovering amazing contemporary encounters with this ancient glaze.

Dates: January 9 – 22, 2016

Fee: US$ 2.700 Including studio, all materials to work during the workshop (clay, glazes, etc.), transportation and lodging (all meals at Art Center -not including restaurants in Valparaiso and Santiago).
US$ 250 in advance are required to make the reservation

Payments are made by Paypal.

We call it "Safari Workshop" because students stay in tents that are enabled as a hotel room, with mattress, sheets, blanket, a lamp, a rug and towels. Shared bathrooms.

During the workshop we have planned small trips to Valparaiso and Santiago to visit museums or some ceramists ateliers while the kilns are cooling down.
