Reports to: Brian Wallace, Founder and Red Gate Gallery Director

Location: Beijing, China

Main objectives: To further develop program direction and to manage all operations related to running an international not-for-profit artists-in-residency program.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:Red Gate Residency is an international artists’ residency program providing artists, curators, writers, and academics with the opportunity to live and create work in China. The program is operated on a not-for-profit basis under the umbrella of Red Gate Gallery in the Dongbianmen Watchtower, Dongcheng District, Beijing, China. The residency program hosts artists from all over the world in six studios in Feijiacun (Beigao – north side of the city) and three downtown apartments in Tuanjiehu. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Residency Program Coordinator manages and oversees all residency programming and outreach functions and acts as the on-site contact for all potential applicants, accepted artists, and current artists in residence. This is a full-time position for a ‘people-person’, requiring excellent organizational skills and initiative to manage 9 - 13 visiting artists at any one time living in our nine spaces (three downtown apartments and six studios/lofts). This is not a 9 – 5 job but one requiring flexible hours to cope with departures and arrivals, weekend and evening activities, unexpected requirements, etc
