High North AiR Network seminar:

Department of Culture at Troms County Council invites to the seminar “Collaboration and competence development through art and exchange programs”.

Department of Culture at Troms County Council invites to the seminar “Collaboration and competence development through art and exchange programs”, on November 21st, 2012 in Tromsø, Norway. The seminar is one of the projects related to the High North Artist-in-Residence network.
 
High North AiR network is a network for organizations that are running Artist-in-Residence programs in the northern parts of Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Northwest Russia. Department of Culture at Troms County Council is administrating several artists-in-residence programs at the guest studio at Troms County Cultural Center in Tromsø, as well as the High North AiR network.
 
 
The aim of the seminar is to encourage collaboration and strengthen the competence in project development for participants. The theme of the seminar is regional and international co-operation on AiR programs, cultural interaction and networking between participating regions and countries in the northern parts of Scandinavia and Northwest Russia. We want to focus on the development of conceptual and project-based Artist-in-Residence programs based on co-operation between different organizations.
 
 
Invited contributors have extensive experience and expertise in the field of contemporary art and various exchange programs:
 
Markus Degerman (SE), artist, director for Contemporary Art Academy in Tromsø

Marita Muukkonen (FIN), freelance curator/ associated curator at HIAP, Helsinki International Artist Programme

Audhild Dahlstrøm (NO/UK), project manager for High North residency program, director for NABROAD (Norwegian Artists Abroad)

Luba Kuzovnikova (RUS/NO), curator and art director at Pikene på broen, Kirkenes

Joar Nango (NO), artist and architect, Tromsø

Svein I. Pedersen (NO), director at Tromsø Art Gallery

Line Nord (NO), guest studio manager at USF Verft, Bergen

Jan-Erik Lundström (SE/NO), director at Sami Artist Center (Ivar Jåks Artist-in Residence program)

Alexander Menuhkov (RUS), Arkhangelsk Artist Association
