Our members are truly diverse. Check some of the new programs that have recently joined Res Artis!

Res Artis members are truly diverse – from large arts organizations to grass roots ones; from urban centres to rural outposts; from short-term residencies to one year experiences. Despite their apparent differences, our members share the common goal of sustaining, promoting and generating a footprint in their local communities while leveraging international relationships within our network.

We want you to meet some of the 90 new residency programs that joined our community this year.

These highlight some of the many interesting and innovative ways our members are strengthening their communities through the arts while creating a more inclusive Res Artis community.

The Fresh Milk Art Platform Inc. is a Caribbean non-profit, artist-led, inter-disciplinary organization that supports creativity and promotes engagement with society by cultivating excellence in the arts. This self-directed residency offers a peaceful working space for a minimum of 4 weeks. Creatives can produce work individually or collaborate, as well as interface with contemporary practitioners working in Barbados.

In 2012 Davidoff Cigars launched Davidoff Art Initiative seeking to make a long lasting contribution to the contemporary art field, in particular, the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, where the company's products are cultivated and crafted. DAI fosters cultural engagement between the Caribbean and the rest of the world, through four global program areas: Artist Residencies, dialogues, grants, and editions.

KKV KONSTNÄRERNAS KOLLEKTIVVERKSTAD I NACKA (THE ARTIST'S COLLECTIVE WORKSHOP) (Sweden) KKV AiR program is located next to the Artist´s Collective Workshop and gives artists from all over the world the opportunity to work in our well established workshops. Situated on the upper floor of KKVs studio building Gula Villan, offers a work space of 23 square meters with a ceiling height of 2.48 m. and a furnished apartment.
Established in 2003. Offers residencies to artists, writers, curators musicians etc. for 2 weeks to 3 months. Open October 1- December 31 and April 1-August 31. 2013 AiRs include Sam Hill (NZ), Nadine Browne (Australia), Terra Fuller, Alyssa Fridgen and Elisabeth Corrales (all US). Open to artists from all over the world.  Special interest in artists with interest in local history, cultural history and theory and environmental projects.
Dedicated to small format works: sculpture, printmaking, artist book. Located just 50 meters from the sea. We offer one or two weeks up to three artists at one time, and time to relax and planning your projects, unhurried. We offer courses in botanical drawing and others, and contact with galleries from 6 different Spanish cities we work with today.
Inside-out Art Museum is a non-profit platform to both support young emerging artists and to foster greater interactions between China’s and international art communities. We accept applications from visual artists and curators. Through the programme, a multifarious art environment will thus be created that gives rise to different emerging artists to develop interactions and collaborations with one another.
ART KIBBUTZ NY (United States)
Art Kibbutz, International Jewish Artist Colony, created a community of 600+ outstanding international Jewish artists. Our first pilot residency program at Eden Village in New York was a success with 30 participants from 8 countries giving Jewish responses to environmental questions.

SMT is an artist/thinker residency program, an experimental college, and a nomadic investigation in intentional living. Our mission is to create an environment where participants are able to develop a creative practice that challenges disciplinary conventions of art-making, thinking and living. Our program asks: How does art deepen thought and provoke questioning? How is thinking enacted through creative mediums?
Terra Vivente Art Studio is a small, independent studio offering a residency for emerging and established artists in Campania, Italy. Situated in the historical centre of the town of Guardia Sanframondi, it overlooks a picturesque valley filled with vineyards. Proposals that embrace themes of collaboration, sustainability, and community are encouraged. The residency takes place in December, July and August.
N&GGlobal Exchange Center (China)
With over ten years experiences in cultural exchange, our center invites artists from abroad to live in Beijing to exchange ideas, to experience local cultures and to connect & to network with Chinese art community and art enthusiasts, There is no limitation by medium. Visual artists including painters, sculptors, and photographers are all welcome to apply for.
A newly renovated residency with room for three artists at a time. The residency hosts creative souls for longer periods of time and they use the space to explore, develop, rethink and produce their work. The house, by its nature, facilitates a creative process where thoughtful conversations are combined with hands on activities.
KUNST ASYL (Germany)
Our program is a "Culture-Integration-Dialogue". The artists’ work should be AGAINST Consumerism, stereotypes, separation of people and values, and FOR global integration and human universal values. The project wants to bring back the values of humanism in our post-modernism time.
The Santa Fe Art Institute promotes art as a positive social force through residencies, lectures, studio workshops, exhibitions, community art actions, and educational outreach for adults and young people. SFAI is an environment where creativity, innovation, and challenging ideas thrive.
The residency project at the oldest independent art centre in St. Petersburg started in 2012. The program is open for individual artists as well as for artistic groups working in all fields of contemporary art and art researchers. The main condition for participating is an interesting project as well as a wish to work in a new cultural space.
Our residences are fully active and getting more and more artists from around the world, we are ready to accept new enriching experiences. We invite artists and collectives interested in coming to work in the south of the world to know the MAM Chiloé (Active Centre of Contemporary Art). PECAH ( India)
PECAH- “Programme of Exchange in Culture and Art of Himalayas” is an opportunity to exchange ideas and skills with the traditional art forms of the Himalayas in Uttrakhand, India. PECAH is dedicated to spreading the radical flavour of Uttarakhand’s art forms. Artists will come to know the vast cultural palate through workshops held every day of the week.
We will offer you free spaces to create, live and exhibit for seven months. After these seven months, we will organize a symposium which will also include exhibition, publication and criticism on your work. Our aim is to discover and promote excellent art practitioners.
Three week residency in a restored vintage bus housed in an inner city Australian backyard. Designed to support the work of artists of any discipline, who are committed to creating work with a strong alignment to social justice, community development and/or health values.
ALTlab Photography Residency has been designed to support artists who engage in an interdisciplinary approach to both the investigative photography process and the production of work, leading to new thoughts, tools, and things unexpected and unpredictable. This unique residency will offer the participants an opportunity for exploration, reflection and experimentation.
The European House of Art in Freising near Munich is a center for contemporary art. The location in the midst of nature, exceptional architecture and a versatile cultural programme provide a unique atmosphere. The residency programme is based on exchanges with partner organizations in Europe and comprises usually three scholarships for three months two times a year.
NUCLEO (Belgium)
NUCLEO provides studios for visual artists in Ghent. We offer spaces for creation, exhibitions, analysis and questioning of contemporary visual arts. Our residency program targets artists at the beginning of their career. NUCLEO is looking for partnerships with organisations, on a basis of reciprocity, thus enabling exchange of artists and artistic projects.
Ne'-Na Contemporary Art Space international residency program offers artists an opportunity to execute site specific projects which engage with and utilize the local culture of Northern Thailand. The residency offers the artist the opportunity to develop their practice by implementing contemporary concepts and approaches in a new and culturally specific context.
MIET (the Netherlands)
MIET AIR is primarily aimed at sculptors. For this group, it is especially difficult to work outside of their own studio because of the materials, tools and equipment they use. MIET AIR offers comfortable accommodation and a fully equipped workshop for the use of stone, bronze, metal, ceramics and glass. There is a great deal of expertise on bronze and the complete casting process.
D.I.S.C. THE ART (India)
An Art residency created by artists for artists. We do create the journey type of the residency where artists could live, travel, share ideas and collaborate. The journey residency will be moving in the tribes of Odisha (India) filled with tribal Arts and crafts.
Because the world says “you do it like that”. We do it like 'this'. We lay out a clean sheet and start from scratch. Giving like billionaires gone mad and asking no security, we build tiny palaces that the ghost of an idea might take shape, and plant our garden with abandon, that art will give way to more art.
The mission of the Bogliasco Foundation is to support the Humanities by offering highly qualified artists and scholars an inspiring haven in which to create new work and a vibrant, international community in which to exchange ideas, expand boundaries and form lasting collaborations. On September 27, the Bogliasco Foundation will begin accepting applications for fall 2014 and spring 2015 at www.bfny.org. Application materials must be submitted online in advance of two annual deadlines: January 15 and April 15, 2014.
Estudio Nuboso’s nomadic multidisciplinary residency program focuses on knowledge transfer, human ecology and sustainable solutions. In our pilot stage, the Soil Project will start next January 2014 with a one-week Expertise Exchange Workshop / Residency in SaLo, Veraguas, Panama – with experts and artists from various fields. We will announce possibilities for participation soon, as well as follow-up gatherings or residencies.
Tartu: a small city with a big personality where you can find the Estonian Printing Museum. Once you enter the world of old machines and techniques you will see that the museum is alive. A selection of unique metal and woodblock typefaces, printing presses and passionate people make your stay an unforgettable experience. PS! We have a cat!
Glosolì is an apartment (for 3 artists), a dance studio and a courtyard as artstudio, in the center of Ivrea, in front of the Teatro Giacosa. With our local net, we are more focused on contemporary dance, yoga, jazz (jazz/dance festivals here), music and fine arts. Beautiful nature around Ivrea, town of Olivetti, unique Carnival and close to Torino.
