Banlieues d'Europe network has come to an end

Res Artis received the sad news that the Banlieues d'Europe network has come to an end. Despite the hard work and enormous dedication of Banlieues d’Europe team, it is impossible for them to continue wihtout the necessary finanical support. Res Artis thanks the Banlieues d’Europe network for all its contributions made to the cultural field in Europe. Cultural networks facilitate all forms of international collaboration and improve the access to arts and culture for people. Networks are a strong and vital infrastructure for cultural cooperation and understanding in Europe and beyond. Res Artis is therefore also concerned about the declining support for international networks from the European Commission.

The members of the Banlieues d’Europe  network have worked together since 1989. The network has been nourished, and has grown; numerous people have been associated in the work, and many organizations have cooperated. These people were actors eager to live, and above all progress, in a world where culture is a precious possession, belonging to all citizens, for sharing and bearing  fruit - not reserved for certain citizens because of their education, or even an inequitable social tradition. Read the last newsletter of Banlieues d’Europe here.
