AiR Skovde - Residency for Socailly Engaged Art

APPLICATION OPEN FOR CUBAN ARTISTS TO COME AND WORK IN WEST SWEDEN
Duration: 4-5 weeks (Starting in April 2016, exact dates flexible)

Host: Skovde Art Museum & Cultural Center
Name of Residency: AiR Skovde (AiRS)
Location: Skovde, Sweden

Program Curator: Anna Viola Hallberg
Museum Director: Thomas Oldrell

AiRS aims at being an international hub for Socially Engaged Art. As an artist you will be an important part of this network and help forming a sustainable residency format for artists to come. Your artistic practice will match the residency program if you have an approach critiquing contemporary society but also inviting others to participate in a dialogue on complex issues based in history, religion and politics.

In 2014-2017 the program investigates ”boundaries” in and between different societies, locally and/or internationally. Suggested themes are, but not limited to; migration, democracy, voice, ownership etc. We encourage work with attempt of claiming or having a critical stance to sites in public or semi public spaces.
