Heima Art residency has now opened for two extra spots during the summer 2017.
Description of residency program
Heima Art Residency is an independent nonprofit organisation founded in 2013. Heima is located in Seyðisfjörður, a thriving port that is home to just 650 people and yet manages to support an art school, a cinema, a theatre, restaurants/bars, two artist residencies and the Dieter Roth Academy. Heima is a multidisciplinary art residency for emerging and established artists located in Seyðisfjörður, East Iceland.
Duration of residency
We have just gotten the oppotunity to open for a few extra spots in the following periods:
06.06.17 - 26.07.17
01.08.17 - 21.09.17
Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
Heima works across all artistic deciplins and the residencies will have access to the following during the residency:
- Internet Connection
- A big studio space that can be programmed for workspace and exhibition space.
- Computer / projector
- Studio speakers + mixer
- Woodworking Tools

Accommodation and studio/ workspace
The physical space is a 350 square meter combined house and studio/exhibition space.
Fees and support
Residency fee is 150.000 ISK. which covers housing and full access to our studio facilities. Residents must provide for their own food, travel, and specific materials.
Expectations towards the artist
To have a strong commitment to their practice and the ability to interact positively with the fellow artists-in-residence and community at large. The Heima residency is independant and all external talks, critics or exhibitions are optional and not a requirement.
