French Artist in Residence - FAR Bundanon-Australia

An opportunity for a French artist to undertake a six-week residency at Bundanon in Australia.

Description of residency program
The French Artist in Residence - FAR Bundanon-Australia program was initiated in 2015 by the Embassy of France in Australia and Bundanon Trust. The aim is to build longer term relationships between Bundanon Trust and French cultural institutions as well as between Australian and French artists.
The program is open to individual arts professionals who are French citizens but not residents in Australia.

Duration of residency
Six weeks

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
The residency is for artists working in all disciplines: film-makers, visual artists, writers, performers, producers, directors, composers, new media artists and curators. It can be for research and development or for the creation of new work.

Accommodation is in Bundanon's Freedman Apartment and Studio, which has private bedroom, bathroom and studio, and a shared kitchen.

Studio/ workspace
The artist has their own 34 square metre studio

Fees and support
The residency includes one international return airfare to Sydney (economy class), and a stipend of $AUD 1000.

Expectations towards the artist
Artists are encouraged (but not obliged) to open their studio and give a short talk to a student group once during their residency.
