PICTURE BERLIN Summer Session Application Deadline Extended

PICTURE BERLIN Summer Session Application deadline has been extended to 23 Jan!

Description of residency program
PICTURE BERLIN is a hybrid program founded in 2009 by artists for artists and it is a network curated and built around each session’s incoming residents. Heading into its 9th year, PICTURE BERLIN offers two residency sessions designed for emerging artists working in contemporary art and photography. A combination of a rigorous studio practice combined with integration into the Berlin art scene is the basis for the Summer Session (12 July - 26 August 2018). The dynamic programming offers lectures by Berlin based artists, one-on-one discussions with over 10 international artists and curators, multiple exhibitions, group meals, in-progress work reviews, studio visits, a curatorial marathon, and artist walks. The strategy of the program is the lack of separation between studio practice, critiques, and shared meals. Every experience informs and builds on the next.
PICTURE BERLIN is over 100 alumni strong, Over 55 Berlin based curators have worked with our residents over the years in addition to 60 Berlin based artists and creative professions. Don’t miss the chance to be a part of the international PICTURE BERLIN community. Participation in either the Summer or Fall Session 2018 will secure the resident artist a place in the 2019 10 year anniversary PICTURE BERLIN city wide festival!
