Mauser EcoHouse Costa Rica

Come immerse yourself in the biodiversity of Costa Rica!

Description of Program
Mauser EcoHouse Artist Residency provides artists with a beautiful, tranquil and inspirational space where they can immerse themselves in their individual projects. The program focuses on furnishing artists with luxury accommodations, ample work space and serene surroundings so that individual or group projects can be worked on, and creativity can flourish. At the Mauser EcoHouse, artists can expect a lush jungle setting on our 1.5 acres of land. The property contains numerous indigenous fruit trees, edible plants, herbs, and a working greenhouse. Many amazing species of insects, butterflies, birds, monkeys and sloths either call this land home or pass through from time to time. The jungle here is full of life! Two banana circle composts and five swales are also on site. During your stay, you will learn about the property's sustainable features, and local flora and fauna by our on-site artist, vegetarian chef and Foundation Director, Heather. Here, artists are encouraged to be self-directed and pursue their personal and creative objectives.

The Mauser EcoHouse Artist Residency is owned by the Mauser Harmony with Nature Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization committed to improving the quality of life on the planet. We believe it is possible to find a harmonious balance between technology and nature.

The Foundation was established in 1998 in memory of our dear friend and mentor, Professor Ferdinand F. Mauser.
