Apply for a residency at the newly founded art residency, Kunstkollektivet 8B, in Unnerud, Denmark. Located in scenic surroundings close to beach and forest, the residency is offering professional studios in beautiful settings. It’s the perfect residency for ceramicist og textile artist who want to immerse themself in a new project or exploring new techniques. Besides 24-hour access to the studios the residency is offering the residents guidance from associated artists.

About Kunstkollektivet 8B
Only an hour’s drive from Copenhagen, you will find the newly renovated merchant house, which is home to Kunstkollektivet 8B. 8B is a newly formed communal house and workshop for ceramicists and textile artists, which is driven by local volunteers in cooperation with artists living in Odsherred.

As a resident of 8B you will be assigned a private room, a workshop space that you can organise and access to lovely communal areas. All in all, this creates a calm and informal space for creativity. The stay is intended for artists and designers who want to experiment with their artistic expression.

• 650 Euro/pr. month which incl. rent (studio + room) and utilities
• You’ll be expected to leave an original work of art for the house
• Basic materials are available at the residency
• Special materials can be bought through the residency by appointment
• Firings will be charged separately

Duration of residency
Artist can apply for a stay at Kunstkollektivet 8B from 2-12 months at a time. We’re accepting new residents from september 15th, 2019. Deadline for residencies starting in 2019 is set to september 1st, 2019.

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
We’re equipped for 3 artists that’ll get their own private room, access to cozy common rooms and a worktable in one of our newly renovated studios.

As a resident you’ll have 24-hour access to the studio.

The ceramics studio
The ceramics studio contains two ceramic kilns, electric potter’s wheel, a well equipped spray booth, assorted buckets, basins, racks and tables. For more specific details visit our webpage here, og send us your question at

The textile studio
The textile studio contains heat presser, raket, screen printing frames, exposure unit and washing room, back stitch sewing machine, serger, overlock, Silver Reed SK 840 electronic knitting machine, electric yarn winder, ironing board with suction, Countermarsch Loom (12 shafts), Toika computer loom (24 shafts), warping mill (4M) and assorted worktables, hotplates and checkweigher scales.

Expectations towards the artist
The artist is expected to work serious with a predefined project, whether it’s exploring a
technique, experimenting with materials or starting a new production. It’s also expected that the residences follow the house rules, are respectful towards the other residents and help keeping the common areas clean and tidy.

It’s possible for the artist to arrange workshops or talks, but it’s not required.
We offer accommodation and working facilities in the ceramic and textile arts for artists of all nationalities. Basic english, danish, swedish or norwegian is required for communication.
