Studio Kura is a company devoted to art. Our activities include art lessons and workshops for children as well as for adults, and organizing art events such as the biennal Itoshima International Art Festival.

Brief description of residency program

A small artist-run residence program in a rural environment just 45 minutes away from one of the largest Japanese cities. The host wish that the resident artist will enjoy engaging with the unique community and environment. Japanese is not required.

2. Ride the Shinkansen bullet train to Hakata Station (Fukuoka).
3. Ride the Fukuoka City Subway Kuko Line heading to Meinohama, which connects directly with JR Chikuhi Line.
4. Arrive at JR Ikisan Station.
5. Call us to get a ride to the studio.

By plane

1. Let us know when you will be arriving.
