MMCA Residency provides artist-in-residence programs run by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea(MMCA) in order to encourage and support artistic creativity and to make international artistic communication.

Brief description of residency program

MMCA Residency has developed into an international studio through the activation of the international exchange. It provides opportunities to capable foreign artists based on the international network. MMCA Residency constitutes various residency programs according to partner organizations, particular regions, certain time periods, support, and screening (contest and public recommendation). Overseas artists apply for residency programs by taking advantage of each characteristic, and selected artists participate in support programs and interact with artists from around the world, including Korea, for 3-6 months.

* Exhibitions & Workshops: Group show of the works produced by the artists during their residency; open studio events; and individual shows; Seminars and Symposium
* International programs: Invite artists from overseas; exchange programs with artist-in-residence program overseas.
* Public programs: programs in which local residents or the general public can participate; Studio Library (Public resource room) is operated.
