Brief description of organisation

2009, artists and locals together, started a program to develop the Avian Kingdom to become an international venue with a focus on human relations towards nature. Since 2011, the work is done through the non-profit organisation ARNA (Art and Nature). ARNA runs an international artist in residency, placing it in the center of all the organization´s work as a connector between local and global perspectives.

Our vision is for The Avian Kingdom we are situated in to become the world´s first UNESCO biosphere reserve to include the Culture dimension of sustainability.

Grants available

It is necessary to read the information for each call for applications thoroughly as the calls can include, or not, grants. When we need cash to build more facilities for artists at the residency we rent out residency stays. Often we can offer Accommodation Grants, meaning housing without cost. When developing art projects we cover housing and try to also cover costs for travels.

How to reach

By train

Take the train to the city of Lund. Here you take the bus 155 to the last stop, Harlösa. The bus takes 50 minutes.

By plane

Kastrup airport in Copenhagen, Denmark. Take the train from the airport to the City of Lund in Sweden(30 minutes). In Lund you take bus 155 to the last stop, Harlösa. The bus takes 50 minutes.

By car

ARNA is situated in the most southern part of Sweden in a village called Harlösa. On E22 between Lund and Hörby at the interchange called Gårdstånga (exit 23), drive east in the direction toward Sjöbo on road 104. After 13 kilometers you enter the village Harlösa and here you find ARNA.
