General information

Brief description of organisation

We are a UK based not-for-profit visual and digital media arts organisation. Our programme primarily consists of international artist residencies, commissions, training and research. Much of our work focuses on promoting intercultural dialogue and artist mobility. We have a wealth of experience in developing and presenting large-scale public art works and endeavour to present the work of all the artists we work with in a public setting.

We are based in Newcastle Upon Tyne in North East England. Our offices and studios are based in the city centre within a 5 minutes walk of the train station and with close proximity to the airport.

Brief description of residency program

Our residency programme provides mentoring opportunities and technical training so that artists can develop their practice with the support of established artists. Furthermore we arrange artistsĀ“ talks and networking events for our residents so that they can be introduced to new networks and present their work to a wide audience. Our artistsĀ“ studios and media lab are based in our offices in Newcastle in the United Kingdom. The length of our residencies is flexible, from three weeks to six months.

We offer both funded residency opportunities and self-financed residencies throughout the year. If you are interested in financing a residency yourself or are planning on raising your own funding, please contact us at d6@d6culture.org. Our current opportunities are listed below.
