Brief description of organisation

Founded in 1969, the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica is the most established and equipped studio for professional and practicing artists.

The Scuola has 8 etching presses, 1 lithographic press, 1 vertical woodcut press,1 Vandercook letterpress and - in a separate serigraphy studio - exposure unit and 2 serigraphy tables.

In addition, 2 drawing/painting studios accommodate up to 8 artists, and our Graphic Design computer room has 12 iMacs to be used by resident artists in digital imaging, as well as film editing.

Brief description of residency program

Throghout the year, the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica offers Studio Residency Programs for professional and established artist, as well as for scholars.

Residents have 7 days a week access to our fully equipped and extensive facilities in the central area of Cannaregio. Our studios are wheelchair accessible.

The Scuola does not provide housing in Venice. Resident artists are responsible for locating their own housing accommodation.

By plane

Go to Piazzale Roma by bus or taxi, then catch the Vaporetto (line 1). Get off at San Marcuola (stop N.° 3). The Scuola is just there, with the address of Calle Seconda del Cristo, 1798.

You can also catch Alilaguna Arancio and get off at Ponte delle Guglie, a five-minute walk to the Scuola.
