Brief description of organisation

The MAC is a multidisciplinary artistic and cultural centre of A Coruña, Spain. The museum, comprising a 8.000 m2 space, begins its activity in 1995 having as a mission supporting artistic creation through diverse training and international mobility programs for artists. Besides these programs, the museum is involved in an intense process of acquisition of works of art for its corporative collection. Further information: www.mac.gasnaturalfenosa.com.

With the aim of boosting its international activity, supporting arts creators and fostering investigation and innovation in the arts field, the MAC opens its anual Artist-in-Residence Program offering 8 residences. Each selected artist or culture professional will benefit from a 2 month residence within the program.

ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM

Goals and objectives

Within the established framework of its Cultural Promotion and Cooperation Plan, the MAC initiates a selection process every year for 8 (4 local and 4 international) artists’ residencies aimed at developing projects of artistic research.

Applications are open to artists and professionals from the any art or culture sector.

The present program aims at: a) fostering artistic investigation and production; b) contributing to promoting artistic creators; and c) promoting international mobility of artists and other culture workers.
