General information

Brief description of organisation

Arts Letters & Numbers (ALN) is a non-profit arts and education organization dedicated to fostering creative exchanges across a broad range of disciplines including architecture, visual arts, theatre arts, film, music, humanities, sciences, and social sciences. Operating globally, regionally and locally, ALN seeks to bring together artists of diverse backgrounds, practices and ages. It conducts programs in educational and cultural institutions worldwide, collaborating with universities, high schools, museums, theatre companies, and community organizations. In addition, the organization runs an ongoing interdisciplinary artist-in-residence program, as well as educational workshops, sessions, exhibitions and events, taking place year-round.

Arts Letters & Numbers proposes a new model in the art of teaching and learning, an emergent structure for questions and works; a school, a theater company, a film company and a publishing company all inside of each other, all creating transformation.

Brief description of residency program

The Residency at Arts Letters and Numbers is a space for individuals to have full creative agency to develop new works in a peaceful and evocative environment and to have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with other artists. We strive to cultivate a space that encourages collaborative and individual creation: to think, make and act alongside others within a community. With the Residency Program, artists from wide range of disciplines will be able to come together, ask and engage their questions, create and share their work. When people are free to act, interact and support one another, new works and ideas emerge.
