Sydney Art Space

General information

Brief description of organisation

Sydney Art Space is the inspiration of multi-form artist, curator and educator Christine Simpson who has created an art’s environment that provides quality art courses, quality art tutors and diverse and interesting open forums and workshops, for the larger community.

Sydney Art Space also has the facilities to provide for an artist in residence program and is a member of Res Artis, opening our doors to the global artist community.

Located on the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney, the space is 45minutes by bus to the CBD, major art institutions and galleries. We are 30 minutes by bus to Manly and the Manly Regional Gallery. We are surrounded by much native flora and fauna, with many waterways and beaches at our doorstep. There are wonderful walks through the local national parks and Narrabeen Lagoon Catchment which are all easy to access from Sydney Art Space.

Residencies will be held throughout the year with a minimum of 1 month’s stay, to a maximum of 3 months.

The artist will need to complete a memorandum of understanding with Sydney Art Space for the duration of their residency, which will include the artist having their own public liability. This contract can be found in the application form online at
