Casa Lu

General information

Brief description of organisation

Casa Lu is a private organization that welcomes artists from all over the world to live, create and exchange. Get inspired by Mexican culture in a relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by a beautiful garden in Tlalpan, a small town hidden away in the southern part of Mexico City, only 45 minutes away from the galleries and museums in the city.

We are a residency that wants to provide artists with a peaceful space to develop their projects as well to network with other artists and members of the community. Our mission is to connect and promote artists through digital platforms, exhibitions, workshops and talks.

Brief description of residency program

Casa Lu is ideal for artists who are looking for a quiet and relaxed atmosphere to live in and work but who are also interested in experiencing the excitement of the art scene in Mexico City.

Artists are encouraged to show their work. They are welcome to give a talk and have a solo or group show in our gallery or garden. Each exhibition will have an opening reception.

For our regular residency program there is no fixed deadline. The minimum stay is 1 month and the maximum stay is 3 months.

Artists have to pay a residency fee that covers the cost for accommodation, studio space, transportation to/from airport or bus terminal and a final exhibition in our gallery or garden with a reception and professional photographs of their work.

In the house there are three bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, three bathrooms, a gallery, two indoor studios and three patios where artists can work as well.
