Event Horizon

General information

Brief description of organisation

We have used the cosmological phenomenon of the Event Horizon as an analogy for art as a transcendent concept. We welcome people to explore time and space for creativity. Event Horizon is a building offered to anyone who can complete the criteria, it is not a commercial idea and donations are welcome toward the continued growth of the residency project.

Brief description of residency program

Event Horizon is a Crete based building for the arts, music and literature. A rural retreat for production and experimentation. This opportunity offers creative space free of charge, it is set in five acres of stunningly beautiful wild olive groves close to the sea. The building is created from used shipping containers and is completely insulated. There is rented and subsidised accommodation on offer as part of Event Horizon: The Architect´s House and a Windmill in Neapolis Town (7km). Bursaries on-site: Sprite caravan and a stylish cabin. Bursaries off-site: Gypsy Caravan in Fourni Village (2km).

Note: Event Horizon residency is for particularly for self-sufficient, serious-minded individuals who are deeply committed to their practice, people who can respect the privilege of time and space. We are all witness to the devastation of the environment by human activity, applicants with the fragile planet ideology are especially welcome at Event Horizon.
