Brief description of residency programme
Palette People Artists Residency Programme is now open to creative artists from all fields and of all nationalities.
Locations.- Vagamon-a hill station in rural Kerala  (India)  
Brief description of organization.Palette People is a registered charitable trust having its HQ  in the state of Kerala in India. The birth of Palette People  in 1991, was occasioned by the sincere urge to spot young  talented artists and project  them on the national and international scene, besides energizing the mindset of the public towards an active appreciation of visual art .A new generation of very talented and dedicated artists have come up with the active support of Palette People.
We have been conducting  regular exhibitions, camps, seminars and talks for the artists and supporting them in all aspects.
Palette People now run an art gallery in Hotel Le Meridien ,Kochi 
About  the location. Vagamon, a virgin hill scape in Idukki Dist in Kerala ,1100 mts above sea level, is one of the most scenic Greenfield hill stations in India with moderate winter, monsoon and salubrious climate round the year.This is located in the Western Ghats along the west coast of India which has been included on the coveted list of the World Heritage Sites, at a meeting of the World Heritage Committee (UNESCO). It is recognised as one of the world\'s eight "hottest hotspots" of biological diversity.
The vast spread of rolling meadows, tranquil lakes,huge peaks, green forests, rivers and waterfalls and the tea gardens make vagamon a trekkers paradise.
The room temperature does not usually rise above 24 degree C even during the hottest season. 
How to reach
By train.                       Kochi railway staion and from there by cab to Thodupuzha-                                                 Kanjar-Pullikkanam Vagamon.-110 kms. Kottayam to Pala -                                              erattupatta-vagamon -85 km
By plane.                      Kochi( Nedumbassery) International airport to Vagamon by                                               road)-100 kms
Nearest airport:           Kochi

Other activities ( Paid). Trekking through forests , boating in Idukki dam ( chances of sighting wild animals including wild elephants), bird watching, fishing, cycling, taking part in organic farming, butterfly watching, star watching during nights,participating in cooking sessions etc ( all on request). Yoga and Meditation gurus will be arranged for the residents on special request.

Duration of residency:
15 days to 3 months (Can be extended on request on a case to case basis)

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
Palette People Artists Residency Programme is now open to creative artists of all nationalities and others connected with art.

On twin sharing basis.( Single occupancy on request)

Studio/ workspace
6 rooms on  single or twin sharing basis.
Studio space of 1200 sq ft
A  large area of open space  ( rolling meadows and tree covered areas.)
Service of care taker / cook and helper . 
In- house kitchen facility .
( We also have a city residency facility in Kochi City with 3 rooms and a studio space. Artists can use this as a stopover facility )

Fees and support
Fees:     USD.20 per day( for stay ,food and supplies) (minimum 15 days)
              USD 15 for above 30 days

Expectations towards the artist-
Artists are free to select their own subject/project.Those who are willing can donate one of thier works to the residency.

Application information-
Submit a CV, portfolio /images of recent works and a small brief about your project in the residency.

Selection procedure:By a 3 member selction team.
