The DAR Programme offers artists to realize selected projects during the period of two to four weeks

Description of residency program
The DAR Programme offers artists to realize selected projects during the period of two to four weeks by awarding residence scholarships and providing rent-free apartments for the selected period.  We invite artists to stay and work in the Artists' Guesthouse of the Lithuanian Composers' Union in Druskininkai, a year-round international resort some 130 km southwest of Lithuania's capital Vilnius.
The Artists' Guesthouse of the Lithuanian Composers' Union in Druskininkai was built in 1980. Today it is a perfect place for those seeking inspiration and calm environment necessary for creative work. Situated in a quiet and cosy part of the town surrounded by a pine grove, the guesthouse comprises eight fully furnished two-storey apartments and a separate parking lot.

Two to four weeks

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
Themes: 

  • For community/participatory art residency connected with Druskininkai city. It can include a proposal of art /music/ painting workshops.
  • Collaboration with Lithuanian composer in order to perform his/her new piece.
  • Musician/performer who can prepare a program of Lithuanian and foreign composers for the concert.
  • For independent work.

Accommodation - Studio/workspace
The size of each apartment is 76 m2, consisting of a fully equipped kitchen, a WC and two single bedrooms on the first floor; a double/twin bedroom, a bathroom and a large living room on the second floor; and two large balconies on each floor. All apartments are also equipped with wireless internet access, TV, and musical instruments (cabinet/upright pianos). The apartments are suitable for work and rest and can accommodate one or two residents at a time.

Fees and support
Support: free accommodation during the residency period and honorary depending on the staying, publicity and an assistance of a program coordinator. Honorary for 2 weeks - 300 euros, 3 weeks - 450 euros, and 1 month - 600 euros
