Description of residency program
Holes in the Wall Collective's Creative Residency is designed to span across many mediums and designations of creative practice.  We invite people across disciplines to engage with their practice and share collective space. Big projects.  Small Projects. Collaborations.  Solo work.  We welcome all creatives to apply. Offering Three-day and week-long Open Residency Periods this summer season.

Duration of residency
Up to 1 week

OPEN RESIDENCY PERIODS -

Memorial Day Weekend:  May 26th - 29th
Three Day:  June 26th - June 29th
Three Day:  July 17th - July 20th
Four Day:  July 31st - August 4th
Three Day:  August 7th - August 10th
Three Day:  August 21st - August 24th

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
Expanding our residency to those working in science, policy, economics, mathematics, education, research, activism, pedagogy, technology in addition to the more known forms of creative practice in the visual arts, writing, performance & music.

A place to delve into research.  To work on a short film.  Choreograph a new piece.  Record an album. To study the effects of light on your spine or solar flares for an institution.

Accommodation
Residents are housed in the Holes in the Wall Collective Cabin, with four bedrooms, each with a work-desk.  Residents share a communal kitchen and living space. Bathrooms are shared.

Studio/ workspace
We offer shared studio space in a large converted stone barn, and use of large open space for performance, dance, movement and meetings. There is individual work space in each private room (contingent on medium).  A work desk is available on our large screened-in porch as well as a large picnic table outside under the shaded cherry tree.

Fees and support
Holes in the Wall Collective is not funded by grants or endowed by foundations.  We strive to make our costs affordable and accessible - all payments help us to cover our basic costs.

Subsidized Rate: At cost to support those making ends meet ends.  $45/night.

Regular Rate: An affordable rate to cover costs, upkeep, and keep the lights bright. $60/night. 

Sustaining Rate: This is the rate to keep us going past the season & help cover costs for other residents. $75/night.

Shared Room Rates - Ideal for collaborators or colleagues - Subsidized Rate: $35/night per person, Regular Rate: $45/night per person, Sustaining rate $60/night per person.

Expectations towards the artist
Holes in the Wall Collective does not expect our residents to showcase their time with a product.  We honor process and different manifestations of how that is explored.

All residencies have the opportunity for a group sharing/feedback session for artists to talk about or share their work and/or process.
