Explore the art, culture and spirituality of India with a global Curator.

Description of residency program
Culture curry is an interesting project where  artists representing from different cultures will be together in India and together what they will experience and  express will be the culture curry. The residents will be from various disciplines and from various countries which will make it an unique experience . To add the excitement all the participants are encouraged to make at least one dish of their own country during the residency at the KIAR residency kitchen. There will be a power point presentation of  works and culture by the participants and they will represent their respective countries in the culture curry residency project. At the end there will be an exhibition for the participants who are staying for 30 days. This project is to understand each others culture and share among each other like an big Indian Family. At the end of the residency there will be melting of different cultures under one roof and the flavour will be expressed by their works which will be showcased in the exhibition.
We are preparing an exciting but low-key program that will allow artists to explore the unique culture, environment and story of Bhubaneswar, India which is a historical city with great past to fuel and inform creative production. The residency’s theme grows out of the meaning of the word “culture curry” itself, which assume that the artist’s presence itself will create a new curry as artists representing from different cultures will be together in India and what they together will experience and  express will be the culture curry.
