Working artists, come create in the wilds of Vermont and eat directly from our gardens.

Description of residency program
Each session is two weeks in duration and residents are asked to be present for the entirety of the session.  We offer two optional field trips per session and transportation to the nearest grocery store for those who would like to supplement their meals.  Each resident shares sleeping quarters with one other resident, both will have their own bed and desk.  Residents make their own schedules and are welcome to suggest optional programming that they would like to offer in the form of workshops, presentations or performance.

Duration of residency
We offer three two-week sessions during the summer months to artists working in all mediums.

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
We do our best to accommodate artists working in all mediums.  We provide the following equipment on site:

Wood shop - table saw, chop saw, planer, band saw, jointer, drill press and various hand tools.

Metal shop - oxy-acetylene torch, anvil, leg vice, forge and various hand tools.

Ceramics shed - electric throwing wheel, wedging table, cone 6 electric kiln and various tools.

Fiber barn - industrial sewing machine, serger, large floor loom and a natural dye kitchen complete with dye pots, racks, scales and utensils.

We partner with a neighbor for the use of a large indoor area for dancers and performance artists needing more indoor space to work.  All studio space is communal and there is ample space outdoors.  We offer the use of an open air a covered pole barn consisting of three 10x20 covered areas.  If you have specific studio needs please get in touch with us before submitting an application.

Accommodation and studio/ workspace
Lazuli Residency hosts a handful of working artists at a time on 125 acres of field and forest. Meals are provided directly from our gardens and neighboring farms. Lodging is provided in three shared bedrooms and one single room in the farmhouse. There is shared studio space available as well as a wood shop, metalworking space and a ceramics shed. For specific questions please email us directly at lazuliresidency@gmail.com

Fees and support
Three organic and vegetarian meals per day are provided.  Lodging is provided as well in the form of shared bedrooms in the main farmhouse.  The cost of a two week session is $750 per resident.

Expectations towards the artist
We have very few expectations towards our residents.  Each resident will spend their time here as they see fit.  We do require that each resident clean up after themselves after meals and in all communal spaces. Studio space is to be left as it was found at the end of each session.  The only other expectations that we have are that each resident be present for the orientation at the beginning of each session and complete a written exit interview before they leave.
