Kunstkollektivet 8B is offering 2x3 months free stay for ceramic artists
We’re Kunstkollektivet 8B, and we’re a brand new art residency for ceramic artists located in Unnerud, Denmark. Our vision is to help develop and promote the art of ceramics through our state-of-the-art studio and professional network.

We’re offering 2x3 months free stay at our residence. You’ll be considered if you apply before may 15th.

If you’re chosen for the free stay we’ll pay your rent and basic supplies, you’ll have to pay for special supplies, firings, allowance and food.

Prices

  • 4800 dkk/pr. month which inlc. Rent (studio + room) and utilities (except firings)

  • You’ll be expected to leave an original work of art for the house

  • Firings is 300 dkk/65 l., 1000 dkk/330 l. and 1500 dkk/700 l.

About 8B
Located in scenic surroundings close to beach and forest and only an hour’s drive from Copenhagen, you will find the newly renovated merchant house, which is home to Kunstkollektivet 8B. 8B is a newly formed communal house and workshop for ceramicists, which is driven by local volunteers in cooperation with artists living in Odsherred.

As a resident of 8B you will be assigned a private room, a workshop space that you can organise and access to lovely communal areas. All in all, this creates a calm and informal space for creativity. The stay is intended for artists and designers who want to experiment with their artistic expression and launch their first production or exhibition.

Description of residency program
We’re offering access to a newly renovated ceramic studio and guidance from a professional ceramic artist. The residents are required to work on a predescribed project when they’re staying at Kunstkollektivet 8B. There’s no planned courses for the residents, whom are free to work with projects of their choosing.

Duration of residency
Artist can apply for a stay at Kunstkollektivet 8B from 2-12 months at a time.

Right now we’re offering 2x3 months free stay at our residence from 1st of july to 30th of september. Apply before 15th of May to be considered.

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
We’re equipted for 3 ceramic artists that’ll get their own private room, access to cozy common rooms and a worktable in our newly renovated ceramics studio.

The studio contains to ceramic kilns, electric potter’s wheel, a well equipped spray booth, assorted buckets, basins, racks and tables. For more specific details visit our webpage here, og send us your question at 8b@kunstibrug.dk.  

As a resident you’ll have 24-hour access to the studio.

Expectations towards the artist
The artist is expected to work serious with a predefined project, whether it’s exploring a technique, experimenting with materials or starting a new production. It’s also expected that the residences follow the house rules, are respectful towards the other residents and help keeping the common areas clean and tidy.

It’s possible for the artist to arrange workshops or talks, but it’s not required.

We offer accommodation and working facilities in the ceramic arts for artists of all nationalities. Basic english, danish, swedish or norwegian is required for communication.
