Medieval Villages are surrounded by green rolling hills that lead your eye to the horizon via fruit orchards and vines. The perfect place to slow down and focus.

Duration of residency
2 weeks

Available Dates

Disciplines and assistance
This residency is open to creative practitioners working in all media.

Your hosts have many skills between them. Colin Usher is a Photographer and Digital Media expert and Julia Douglas a Mixed Media Artist (specialising in Textiles) and Web Designer. They are also well connected in the area and willing to share their knowledge and contacts with you during your stay. There will be two other residents at Studio Faire during your stay with whom you may wish to share information and ask for feedback.

A professional photoshoot of you and your work is also included.

Studio / workspace
The ‘Garage’ studio is perfect for creating all types of works of art. It has a large North facing double door so good natural light during the day and no direct sunshine, so not dazzling or too hot mid summer. There is a blank white wall which is 238cm wide and the centre of the room has a concrete floor, which is suitable for laying out larger works. It’s about 3m wide and nearly 8m long. Though this space is offered as a private studio space, residents will pass through it from time-to-time to access other rooms in the property or to use the fridge and washing machine also situated within the space.

Residents live and work in the house, studios and gardens of Studio Faire. Rooms and studios are spacious and mature gardens offer private, shaded space for work and play.

This 2 week self-directed residency is a self-funded residency for 1 person. Fees include a private double bedroom and studio, plus shared shower room with toilet, kitchen, dining room and gardens. A professional photoshoot is also included.

2 weeks for 1 person is 640 €.

Expectations towards the artist
As this is a self-funded residency, Studio Faire has no expectations towards the artist and hope that this supportive environment, without the pressure to produce, will aid creativity, experimentation and the development of new ideas.

Studio Faire offers all creative practitioners a change of pace and the space to create.
