Call for sculptors and architecture students

Build a dwelling in a woodland setting in Germany.

Description of residency
Call for sculptors and architecture students to create a dwelling in a woodland area (within close walking distance of the Pfaelzer Hof in Idar-Oberstein). There are materials including natural timber, old stone and bricks, as well as some well seasoned roofing timbers, available on site. There is also a ruin with a basic masonry structure that could be utilised.

Duration of residency
Four weeks, with the option to stay longer.

Work equipment and assistance
A basic toolkit will be provided and curatorial support is available.

Residents stay in one of our three spacious and beautiful apartments. Each apartment is well appointed and has its own bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. There is WiFi throughout the house. Depending on who is staying, there are shared dinners to enable discussion, exchange and potentially forge collaboration.

Fees and support
€800 residency fee for up to four weeks. This includes accommodation and separate, secluded woodland; one week exhibition of documentation and viewing of the work; regional press and publicity, and (if desired) contact with mentor / curator to help you make the most of your stay.
