Brief description of organisation
Antigua Guatemala — as a place, community and culture — lies at the heart of the Gracia. We work closely with individuals and organizations in the area to encourage cross –cultural education, inspiration and personal exchange within each discipline and project in hopes of developing a broader and more engaging creative dialogue across countries, cultures and fields of research.

Brief description of residency program
Gracia is a multi-disciplinary residency in the outskirts of Antigua Guatemala offering a platform for creative experiments and space for togetherness. The residency hosts artists and non-artists across all fields to support research, conversation and connection surrounding creative work, process and purpose. Gracia is focused on your creative practice and all the ways it can manifest.

SOLO RESIDENCIES SUMMER 2020:
2 week residency:  $560 (program + housing) / $460 per person for two collaborators (program + shared housing)

Grants available
We are a small independent arts program and do not receive external funding support. Residency fees are priced to cover overhead costs. For interested applicants and accepted residents in need of funding assistance, we suggest looking into outside resources such as Artadia, Foundation for Arts Initiatives, Prince Claus Fund for Culture and Development, Jerome Foundation, Harpo Foundation, Pollock-Krasner Grants, Aaron Siskind Foundation, New York Foundation for the Arts, Sustainable Arts Foundation, The Awesome Foundation, and Kickstarter.

Description of residency

Setting
Rural- To all applicants: the house is located near Antigua, it is a short 15 min. chicken bus drive from town. The distance is to ensure the residents have their own space for projects. Please make a mental note of this quality of the experiment before applying.

How to reach

By plane
Flights are available from the US to Guatemala City, generally laying over in Mexico City, Houston, or Miami. The resident is responsible of arranging transportation from Guatemala City to Antigua Guatemala (1 hour drive). We can help you find the best transportation service depending on the time of your arrival. Please send your flight info when you book. We will arrange pick up from Antigua to the house on your arrival.
