Writing creatively requires time and space. Writing creatively requires training the eye to observe closely what goes on around us. Writing creatively requires discipline and the fostering a habit. Autumn is the time of year when the colours come out to play especially in Italy.

The changes in the season can be traced and explored in the physical landscape, the fauna and flora, the foods and within the homes of people. But the changes in the seasons can also be a repository of memories, feelings, thoughts and fears. On this week long writing retreat, we will use Monteleone Sabino, Lazio, Italy as our base as we collect the colours of autumn and gain experiences which are both external and internal, stretching your imagination and supplying a rich vein of new writing. In this series of workshops we’ll take a writer’s tour of the area and we’ll write our own narratives and poems exploring the colours of the season through a variety of exercises. A free place on this retreat is offerd.

The winner is entitled to an 8 day retreat including writing work shops , free accommodation, airport transfers , and all meals included. This retreat is open to writers in all f ields regardless of nationalit y or age. The chosen candidate will have the opportunit y to do a reading/ presentation of their work during the week. The winning writer is responsible for all extra personal, living expenses , travel and insurance cost s , telephone charges and any other expenses during their stay.
