CALL FOR ENTRIES SUMMER EMERGING ARTIST RESIDENCY

Applications Due: March 11

First Session: June 16-July 13, 2013
Second Session: July 21-August 17, 2013

Undergraduate juniors and seniors may apply. Must be 21 or older. Six will be selected for each session.

· A four week intensive individual and collaborative art practice on a farm near Grinnell, IA
· Community outreach with local foods grown in our garden · Housing and individual studio spaces
· Final gallery show at the Grinnell Arts Center
· $100 stipend + food During the summer, Grin City invites ten to twelve college-aged writers, visual or performance artists for one of two month-long sessions.

Those eligible for the Emerging Artist Residency are juniors or seniors in college at the time of application. Applicants from Iowa colleges and universities are given special consideration.

Ideal candidates have a strong portfolio and are serious about pursuing a career in their field for which they are applying, but do not need to have majored in it.

They embrace artistic and work-based collaboration, and have an interest in community engagement.

Interest in local foods and/or agriculture is a plus, but is by no means required.
