Culture Action Europe’s Annual Conference

Beyond the Obvious, Culture Action Europe’s Annual Conference, will take place from October 15 to 17 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Res Artis is a member of Culture Action Europe. For this year’s edition, CAE will offer a special rate to “members of member organisations”. Res Artis member organisations can thus benefit from a 50 % discount on Beyond the Obvious 2015 tickets.

The 2015 edition calls on its participants to learn, reflect and debate on how to seek a balance between adequate conditions for a meaningful public sphere on one side, and private and economic interests on the other, in order to fulfil cultural rights – thus, to fulfil human rights.

What are the tensions that endanger the right to freedom of opinion and expression?

What paths can we identify to protect and enhance these rights?

How can we overcome tensions between the right to create and enjoy culture and the right to fair remuneration, also in the digital sphere?

What is the value of actively contributing to community wellbeing and government by participating in cultural life?

Our board member, Leena Vuotovesi, will also be present. If you are interested in these discussion topics and would also like to attend, please let us know at office@resartis.org so we can arrange a meet-up as well.
