Jerome Foundation seeks President and CEO

The Jerome Foundation, a private grant making foundation based in St. Paul, Minnesota, seeks a President and CEO. This is a tremendous opportunity to lead a highly-regarded and effective foundation, and to further the creative potential of artists and scholars both in the United States and internationally. This new President will arrive at the Foundation at a particularly dynamic moment requiring strategic leadership and skillful management during a time of organizational possibility and change.

In January 2013, the Jerome Foundation announced that the Camargo Foundation, a charitable trust chartered in New York State with a program in Cassis, France, would now operate under its auspices. The affiliation of these two distinct foundations, one a grant making organization and the other an operating foundation, does not come as a surprise given that both institutions were founded by the same artist and philanthropist, Jerome Hill. The next President and CEO has a rare opportunity to connect two exceptional and complementary organizations and position both as leaders and influencers in the field, poised to achieve the next level of reputation and success while continuing to honor the remarkable legacy of Jerome Hill.

Working closely with the nine-person Board of Directors of the Jerome Foundation, the four Members of the Jerome Foundation Corporation, and a small staff in St. Paul, Minneapolis and Cassis, France, the President will be responsible for the continued development of an agile, creative and responsive grant making program for the Jerome Foundation and the development of new programming and a stronger financial foundation for Camargo. Additionally, s/he will support the integration of these two entities administratively and operationally while pursuing mutually beneficial programmatic possibilities and partnerships.

This position calls for a leader with outstanding artistic and intellectual curiosity and breadth, strategic leadership skills and successful managerial experience, top-notch communication skills, strong financial acumen, and an enterprising spirit. This President must be able to inspire and bring people together for a collective purpose, and a global perspective is essential.
