Description of residency program
Applications are now being accepted for our 2019 Anderson Center Artist Residency program in Red Wing, Minnesota. 

Duration of residency
The Anderson Center Artist Residency offers month-long residencies May through October with rare exceptions made for two-week stays. 

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
The Anderson Center Artist Residency is open to emerging, mid-career, and established visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers, interdisciplinary artists, musicians, performance artists, scholars, and translators. Visual artists are provided a 15' x 26' private studio and are responsible for supplying their own materials. Other workspaces on site include an open-air metalsmith facility, and a print studio with a letterpress and etching press. Practice space is provided for performance artists.

Participants are provided lodging in our historic residence, and each person will have a private bedroom. The other areas of the house, including the kitchen, are shared space. Dinners are prepared by the Anderson Center chef Monday through Friday and will shop for groceries for all other meals. Artist residents are responsible for preparing their own breakfasts, lunches, and meals on the weekends.

Studio/ workspace
Visual artists are provided a 15' x 26' private studio, practice space is provided for performance artists, and writers and scholars have work spaces located in the historic residence where they will stay.

Fees and support
Applicants must pay an application fee of $20, and are responsible for the cost of transportation to and from the Minneapolis, Minnesota airport. Our Anderson Center driver will transport individuals to and from the airport. Room and board are provided by the Anderson Center at no cost to the artist resident. 

Expectations towards the artist
Applicants must exhibit professional standing in their field, both mature and emerging artists of promise are welcome to apply. Artists are asked to provide two hours of community service with civic or community organizations. 

Application information
Residency awards are made by a panel of professional peers and are announced within 45 days after the application deadlin.

Applicants must provide a resume, cv, or biographical statement; a work plan; and work samples: composers and musicians need to provide 3-5 recordings, visual artists need to provide at least 5 images of their work, writers, translators, and scholars need to provide 10 pages of their work, and performance artists need to provide three videos.
