General information

Short chronicle

LKV was established in 1993 when a group of artists in close co-operation with the local government (Trondheim kommune) decided to turn a former school-building into a house full of studios and workshops for artists. From the start it has been the artists in the house who have been responsible for the development. A lot of work and energy has been spent in trying to raise money for equipment/machines in the workshops. After 6 - 7 years there are now 35 artists working in their own studios at LKV, we get 10 - 15 guest artists each year for the 2 guest studios, and we have 6 functioning workshops with basic equipment for the production of artwork. LKV is now organized as an independent foundation, we receive financial support from Trondheim kommune and Sør-Trøndelag fylkeskommune.
