KulttuuriKauppila Art Centre in northern Finland opens call for its artist
residency programme for the period of August ? December 2011. Deadline for
the applications is the 31st of August 2010.
Located in an idyllic culture tradition area by the riverbank in a small
town of Ii, KulttuuriKauppila offers its guests peace and inspirations. The
three home artists of KulttuuriKauppila, who have their studios in the atelier
house, guide and interact with the guests. Variety of partners in the region
also offer project environment for the guests when needed.
The luminous guest studio and apartment of KulttuuriKauppila comprise of
91 square meters space with all the modern comforts and basic art equipment.
The residency is located in an old building from the 19th century and was
fully renovated to its modern condition year 2006. The space is suitable
for one artist or an artist couple at once. Please notice that the rent of
the residency is 400 euros per month.
The board of KulttuuriKauppila encourages artists to impact the society:
lectures for the professional artists, workshops in the art schools and activities
in projects are always welcomed. If the applicant has a special project plan
or idea for the stay, please let the board know that in the application.
Also need of special equipment should be announced already in the application
process. The AiR programme will be tailored for each guest artist.
