Res Artis recognizes the essential role of artist mobility in artistic and cultural development. As a network it seeks to foster international connectedness beyond political, national and economic boundaries. Members receive the support of an advocate association which represents the interests of Members and artists to governmental and non-governmental agencies, international organizations, foundations and the corporate sector.
To accomplish this mission, we have two essential programs for all categories of membership: face to face general meetings and our website and e-newsletter.
Benefits of General Meetings
General Meetings are regularly scheduled in diverse international locations. Our meetings were held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Berlin, Germany; Sydney and Melbourne, Australia; Helsinki, Finland; Los Angeles, USA; New Delhi, India.
At our General Meetings Members can expect:
- to have the unique opportunity to discover the artist communities in the host country
- to learn first-hand of the many different models of residency/exchange programs available worldwide
- to meet their international colleagues and develop exchange projects and artistic collaborations
- to gain an understanding of the work of residential arts centers and their catalytic role in the development of art and ideas in the contemporary world
